Free image resizer for social media
Pick a picture and the size you need — feed, Story, Reel or thumbnail. Crop it to fill the shape, or fit the whole picture with a border. It all happens in your browser: the picture is never uploaded.
Sizes
- Feed portrait 4:5 — 1080 × 1350 pixels: Instagram and Facebook feed — the most room on a phone
- Feed square 1:1 — 1080 × 1080 pixels: Instagram and Facebook feed
- Story / Reel 9:16 — 1080 × 1920 pixels: Stories, Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts covers
- Link picture 1.91:1 — 1200 × 630 pixels: Facebook link posts and website previews
- YouTube thumbnail 16:9 — 1280 × 720 pixels: YouTube video thumbnails and landscape posts
How it works
- Choose a picture from your device — a JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Pick the size you need and whether to crop it or fit it with a border.
- Download the JPEG and post it. Instagram accepts JPEG files up to 8 MB; these come out well under that.
Your picture is resized on your own device and is never uploaded.
Questions and answers
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The resizing happens in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to SSS Social or anyone else.
Crop or fit — which should I use?
Crop to fill when the subject is in the middle and the edges can go. Fit with a border when the whole picture matters, such as a poster, a menu or a product with text on it.
What is the best size for an Instagram post?
1080 by 1350 pixels, a 4:5 portrait, takes the most room on a phone. 1080 by 1080 square also works.
Why does it save a JPEG?
Instagram publishes JPEG pictures, and every network accepts them, so one file works everywhere.
Post it everywhere at once
