Questions and answers
What is the best picture size for Instagram?
For the feed, 1080 × 1350 (a 4:5 portrait) takes the most room on a phone; 1080 × 1080 square also works. Instagram accepts shapes from 4:5 to 1.91:1 and JPEG files up to 8 MB.
How long can an Instagram Reel be?
From 3 seconds to 15 minutes, up to 300 MB, when it is posted through the Instagram API as SSS Social does. Story videos are 3 to 60 seconds, up to 100 MB.
Can I post a picture to TikTok or YouTube?
Not through their posting APIs: both take a video. SSS Social can turn an article or a product page into a short video so those posts can go there too.
How long can a caption be?
Instagram and TikTok take 2,200 characters. Facebook posts can be much longer, but SSS Social warns past 5,000. A YouTube description takes 5,000 and a title 100.
