How to post an RSS feed to Instagram automatically
The short answer
Connect your website or its RSS feed to SSS Social and each new item is posted to your Instagram account with the article’s own picture and a caption made from its headline and summary, on the days and times you choose.
Instagram does not accept text-only posts, so an item without a picture is skipped on Instagram — and still posted to your Facebook Page as a link. With video turned on, each item can go to Instagram as a Reel instead.
How to auto-post your blog articles to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTubeWhat Instagram needs from each item
- A picture — SSS Social uses the picture the article itself declares for sharing. Instagram accepts JPEG pictures; if it refuses one, the post shows Instagram’s reason and your other accounts still publish.
- A caption — built from the headline and summary by your template, with your hashtags. Links in Instagram captions are not clickable, so write a line pointing readers to your bio if you like.
- Or a video — with a video allowance, each item can become a short video posted as a Reel.
No feed? No problem
Your site does not need an RSS feed. SSS Social can follow its sitemap or the page that lists its articles instead — press Check website and it tells you which it will use.
How it works, step by step
- Connect Instagram. Under Accounts, connect the Facebook Page your Instagram professional account is linked to; the Instagram account comes with it.
- Add your feed or site. Under Websites, paste the feed or the site’s address and press Check website.
- Pick Instagram and a schedule. Tick your Instagram account, set the days, times and how many posts a day, and write the caption template.
- Let it run. New items post themselves; the Articles tab shows anything skipped and why.

Questions and answers
Does my Instagram need to be a business account?
It needs to be an Instagram professional account linked to a Facebook Page, which is how Instagram allows posting tools to publish.
What happens to feed items without a picture?
They are skipped on Instagram, which does not accept text-only posts, with the reason shown. They still go to your Facebook Page as a link post.
Will my old feed items be posted?
No. Items already in the feed when you connect it are recorded as seen; only new ones are posted, unless you release older ones yourself.
Is it free?
Yes. The free package includes website and feed auto-posting to Instagram. Turning items into videos needs a video allowance.
