How to schedule YouTube Shorts

The short answer

Attach a vertical or square video of up to three minutes in SSS Social, choose the Reel / Short format, tick your YouTube channel, choose Public, Unlisted or Private, and pick a date and time. SSS Social uploads it to YouTube at that moment.

YouTube itself decides what is a Short: a square or vertical video up to three minutes long is filed as one. A wider video, such as 16:9, stays a normal video.

Who can watch it — Public, Unlisted or Private. Nothing is pre-selected, and the post cannot be scheduled until you choose.

How it works, step by step

Connect YouTube. Under Accounts, connect your YouTube channel with your Google account.
Attach the video. Open Compose, add a vertical or square video of up to three minutes, and choose Reel / Short.
Set YouTube’s fields. Tick your channel, write a title, and choose Public, Unlisted or Private.
Schedule it. Pick a date and time and save. The Short is uploaded then, and its link appears on the post.

How long can a YouTube Short be?

Up to three minutes, in a square or vertical shape. YouTube files those as Shorts automatically; a wider video stays a normal video.

Do I need to add #Shorts?

YouTube decides from the shape and length. SSS Social still adds #Shorts to the description of a Reel / Short post unless you already wrote it.

Is the Short uploaded straight away?

No. A scheduled Short stays with SSS Social and is uploaded at the time you chose, so you can edit or delete it until then.
